What You’ll Be Doing Responsible for supporting, monitoring, upgrading and maintaining Percepta’s network infrastructure and related documentation and policies. Provides guidance on installation of new/upgraded equipment for LANs, WANs, Internet and intranet systems and network segments. Provide day to day support of Firewall, LAN/WAN and Network Security systems. Works with systems administrators and support teams to ensure ongoing operations of voice, server and desktop systems, along with associated voice network systems and mobile devices.
During a Typical Day, You’ll
General Support
· Provide quality support in a timely manner (on call response within 15 minutes)
· Provide Tier III support outside normal business hours as required to support the network
· Provide support for the installation and/or upgrades of new hardware and software to the Percepta and client environment, including but not limited to servers, computers, laptops and printers
· Stay abreast of the latest security vulnerabilities, design, security standards, implement and monitor for compliance
· Monitor, resolve and close trouble tickets
Administration
· Provide daily inspection of network hardware, circuits, and review related performance
· Monitor, document, and manage network system backups
· Evaluate, recommend and implement network hardware deployments and renewals
· Works closely with Percepta Support Center and other Support teams
Network Support
· Establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols
· Establishes network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation and configuration and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls
· Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor
· Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control and evaluation; maintaining documentation
· Prepares users by designing and conducting training programs; providing reference topology diagrams and support
· Upgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating and installing enhancements
· Assists with budgeting by submitting information for budgets; monitoring expenses
· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
· Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
· Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
What You Bring to the Role
· BS degree in Networking/Information Systems and 4 years of experience
· Four years relevant experience may be substituted for degree
· Four years’ in-depth experience in modern enterprise LAN/WAN systems
· Two years’ experience in Network security
· Experience with VPN and Internet Proxy systems
· Experience with Virtualized networking (ACI, VMware Distributed Switching, or NSX)
· Familiar with mixed network support of Windows and Linux/Unix based operating systems(
· Expert knowledge of DHCP, DNS and TCP/IP and the OSI Model
· In depth knowledge of BGP, OSPF and EIGRP
· CCNA certified or equivalent work experience
· Strong organizational, communications, and problem resolution skills
· Personal computing experience, including Microsoft Office
