Our client is looking for a Sr. Network Engineer for a new amusement park construction project in Orlando.
- This position is onsite
- Shift flexibility may be required at times during training and ramp periods
ROLE
- Commissioning and maintenance of the networks, systems and communications infrastructures for the attractions in conjunction with the Controls Systems in Engineering and Safety group
- Creation, implementation, and sustainment industrial networks and communications of the attractions
- Designing, supervising installation, commissioning, acceptance testing, network support and troubleshooting, and continual auditing
- Deploy and maintain a park-wide Technical Services network utilizing the enterprise network backbone
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supporting the design and deployment of attraction wired and wireless ICS networks and supervisory systems for world class themed entertainment experiences
- Support the design of IEC62443 compliant network models to enforce security and increase network segregation and security among ride show networks
- Configuring firewalls, servers, and switching hardware to maximize network efficiency and security
- Support of the design deployment of network and monitoring systems for new attractions
- Implementation and support of the next generation of shared services for ride show networking
- Perform daily checks on outstanding project tasks keeping the team updated with completed milestones
- Identify, monitor, and communicate to management task performance risks, issues, problems, and participate in the development and implementation of mitigations or provide hands-on assistance as needed
- Clarify issues or questions for team members and stakeholders and provide the necessary support to remove roadblocks and keep projects moving forward
- Participate in reviews of attraction network architecture and ensure appropriate security, scalability, safety, redundancy, reliability, and sustainability design strategies are in place and are given proper weighting in the design objectives
- Manage technology vendors
- Design and execution of acceptance testing strategies
- Generate system level documentation and manuals
- Maintain configuration management of hardware and software documentation
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established corporate policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities
REQUIREMENTS
- Willing to work nights, weekends during peak periods as required
- 5+ years of experience with IT/OT/ICS networking environments
- Excellent Layer 2 & 3 networking skills. Solid understanding of access and distribution LAN switching environments with VLANs, RSTP, EtherChannel, Multicast and QoS
- Exposure to audio, video, and lighting control systems is a plus
- Firewall configuration and troubleshooting
- Wireless LAN technologies
- Virtualization technologies
- Common network services, SNMP, Syslog, DNS, NTP, DHCP, AD, etc
- SNMPv3 monitoring and management tools
- Analyze network performance using Wireshark and provide root cause analysis, recommendations, guidance, and expertise in maintaining the highest level of performance
- Perform complex troubleshooting, backup, archiving, and recovery
- Solid understanding of change control processes
- Strong communication skills both oral and written
- Ability to articulate and communicate network design, security, and performance issues to non-technical leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent experience acceptable
- CCNA or equivalent certification or experience. CCNP would is a plus
