RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Apply Mechanical Engineering Knowledge & General Engineering Principles in design & engineering of Solids Control, Waste Management and Disposal products
- Carry out Engineering Design, Analysis, Testing & Validation as required
- Identify Engineering Problems and then analyze and offer solutions
- Identify and assess compliance with / application of relevant Industry Standards & Certification
- Manage / Progress Engineering projects and other duties as allocated by the line Manager
- Provide support to Engineering, Manufacturing, & Sales globally as required
- Work in a methodical, structured and safe manner within guidelines as set by NOV values/ethics
- Assist with larger projects working as part of a team
- Liaise with clients and suppliers as required - good communications are essential
- Ensure that Health and Safety is priority
- Keep abreast of engineering developments, trends, equipment and processes and advise Line Manager if these could be applied to improve current work practices, equipment, products etc.
- Be respectful of others internally and externally
- Work towards the vision and strategy of Engineering group
- Produce, check and approve engineering documentation
- Responsible for delivery on time to agreed delivery dates
- Ensure client comments are reviewed and responded to in a timely manner
- Ensure that any design changes which may have a cost or schedule impact are communicated to the relevant personnel
- Ensure customer care is at the foremost position
- Responsible for self-workload in order to plan and schedule ensuring all deadlines are achieved
- Domestic and global travel as and when required
- Carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Quality Assurance
- Carry out all duties in accordance with the Quality Assurance procedures and department/area work instructions.
- Contribute to general improvements in the quality and key activities of the department/area.
Training
- Participate in training where required.
Health, Safety and Environment
- Carry out all duties safely and in accordance with the Health & Safety Policy, Employee Handbook, procedures, training and instruction.
- To be safety conscious and report any safety hazards to the HSE representative.
- Ensure all accidents and/or incidents are reported in a timely manner (within 12 hours) to the Safety Department and Line Management.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or related Engineering - Essential
- Master of Science in Mechanical or related Engineering - Desirable
- Professional Engineering - Desirable
Experience:
- 10 years experience in an Engineering Environment
- Ability to create and track individual metrics
- Ability to define, work within and improve Engineering processes
Skills, training or special knowledge:
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Access, Project, Outlook, AutoCAD, SolidWorks or other 3D package, FEA package)
- Solids control and waste management equipment
- Knowledge of industry standards
