Job Description
LISEGA, Inc. located in beautiful East Tennessee is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to add to our growing professional engineering staff. This is an in office job (not remote or hybrid) with the following responsibilities and needed skill set to be successful:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Performing, leading and mentoring less experienced engineers in the performance of pipe stress analysis on High Pressure piping systems.
- Assist in the development of engineering software up to and including initial project scope, validation, and verification of software.
- Perform structural steel analysis utilizing STAAD and MathCAD in accordance with applicable codes.
- Utilize a thorough understanding of pipe support components, and their functionality on analysis work.
- Develop tools and training to increase efficiency and accuracy in analysis work.
- Apply FEA applications to different components utilizing the ANSYS program.
- Utilize knowledge to provide technical assistance in determining the best suitable and least cost application of pipe supports while meeting application codes and customer requirements.
Skills and Qualifications needed when applying:
- An Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
- A Professional Engineer License (PE) is required.
- A Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is highly preferred.
- Must have extensive knowledge of the piping discipline and pipe supports in particular.
- Must have extensive technical knowledge of engineering systems and calculations as well as engineering methods and materials for 2D and 3D CAD analysis.
- Must have a broad knowledge of industry codes and standards including, but not limited to, ASME B31.1, B31.3 and ASME Sect III.
- FEA experience is required as well as a minimum of five years of experience of pipe stress analysis using CAESAR II, Auto Pipe, etc., and a background of using ANSYS is highly preferred.
- Must have a minimum of five years of experience in structural analysis utilizing STAAD and/or MathCAD.
- Must have a working knowledge of dynamic analysis related to pipes, piping components, pipe supports and its impact to structural steel.
- Must have experience in assisting in developing Engineering Software to enhance efficiencies and productivity.
- Must have good organizational and project planning skills.
- Having a background of leading and mentoring less experienced engineers is preferred.
