Role Overview: HGA is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to lead our Business Valuations practice. The successful candidate will oversee three key areas of valuation services: Enterprise Valuation, Portfolio Valuation, Litigation & Disputes Consulting Services, Financial & Tax Reporting, Capital Equipment Valuation, Transaction Opinions, and Business Advisory services. This leadership position entails not only managing the day-to-day operations of the broader team, but also providing guidance and mentorship to the team of Managing Directors within the Business Valuations group with the aim of fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture. The Head of Business Valuations will be expected to develop new business through their own network while also leveraging Hilco's internal referral base by collaborating closely with other business units. As the Head of the valuations practice, this individual will aim to maximize the value we deliver to clients and drive revenue growth for the organization as a whole.

Key Responsibilities:
Group Leadership:
  • Oversee and manage the Enterprise Valuation, Business Diligence, and Disputes Consulting Services teams, driving excellence in service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Business Valuations practice, ensuring alignment with company objectives and client needs.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and knowledge sharing within the Business Valuations practice.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in Business Valuations, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and guidelines.

Valuation Services:
  • Perform valuations of Business entities to assist clients with mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions; taxation planning and compliance; financial reporting; bankruptcy and reorganization; litigation and dispute resolution; and strategic planning.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing expert guidance on valuation-related matters including lending, financial reporting, compliance, fairness opinions, tax, and dispute resolution.
  • Develop and implement innovative valuation methodologies and approaches to address complex valuation challenges across various industries and situations.

Business Development:
  • Drive business development efforts by leveraging personal network and expertise to bring in new clients while also empowering the Managing Directors to cultivate and nurture existing relationships.
  • Actively seek out opportunities for collaboration and synergies across different divisions within Hilco Global in order to deliver integrated valuation and monetization solutions to clients.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Professional designation such as CFA, CPA, ABV, ASA, or similar strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in Business Valuations, with a proven track record of leadership and building high performance teams.
  • Strong leadership experience as a manager and team builder, ideally having built a platform or team in prior roles, sustaining a profitable pipeline of engagements in excess of $2 million per year for the past 5 years.
  • A strong track record as a rainmaker and executioner in Business Valuations, with broad and deep networks in Senior Lender, Private Equity Funds, and Law communities. Has a strong reputation for delivery, performance, and excellence within these communities.
  • Proficiency in valuation software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Deep understanding of valuation methodologies, financial analysis, and industry dynamics.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and drive results.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and lead teams effectively through change.
