Job Description
NOTE: This position is offered as a hybrid role in the Seattle, WA area. You must be willing to work in office at the Nordstrom Seattle office a minimum of 3 days/week in order to be considered for this position.
As the Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing you will contribute to Nordstrom success by leading a team of individual contributors in developing sourcing strategies and in managing suppliers for best value, quality and service. You will partner cross-functionally to deliver goals for indirect categories (non-merchandise, store development, MRO, store services, warehouse services and construction) for the Nordstrom organization, and you will manage a spend of $400 million plus depending upon market complexity.
A day in the life....
- Develop and leverage strong business and professional relationships with strategic suppliers and industry players to develop and execute sourcing category strategies.
- Collaborate internally with stakeholders and externally with suppliers to deliver on strategic short and long-term goals and deliver measurable and strategic goals to enable a competitive advantage to bottom-line and top-line company growth
- Manage and measure suppliers for continuous performance improvement and solve problems and make decisions for primary and strategic execution and tactical issues within the relevant portfolio of projects and or processes
- Lead cross functional teams, mentor and develop sourcing managers, and set team direction and coach team members to achieve results.
- Lead conversations with executive level leaders both internally and externally about Strategic Sourcing opportunities and build seamless collaborative engagement with common vision.
- Provide leadership for best-in-class management of multiple complex sourcing categories with business acumen and industry expertise authority.
You own this if you have...
- 8+ years relevant experience, 5+ years leading cross-functional teams in sourcing or supply chain required
- BA/BS degree preferred
- Industry knowledge of retail store development, construction, real estate, and/or store & warehouse services sourcing
- Exceptional analytical skills to include advanced knowledge of market analysis, macro-economic drivers, sourcing category strategy, supplier relationship management, ‘should-cost’ models, and multi-year negotiation strategies, supplier continuous improvement programs/Lean Initiatives
- Proven ability to effectively build relationships with customers, peers and leadership and work with cross-functional teams
- Strong experience with MS Office Suite, BI Apps, charting programs and others
- Knowledge of business ethics and Ethical Sourcing Requirements, critical procurement legal requirements and contracting best practices and thorough understanding of specific category and contract types
- Ability to influence at more senior levels, internally and externally and exceptional communications ability, both written and verbal

Pay Range Details
The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
Washington: $123,500 - $233,500 annually This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
