Position Description:
We are currently seeking a Senior Manager, Analytics to lead analytics and insights across our portfolio of brands. They will be responsible for developing a clear and well-structured approach to analytics & testing and contribute to building a culture of data-driven decision making and experimentation. While this role's primary focus is marketing and sales activities, this individual will also work directly with cross-functional stakeholders and business leaders across departments, including marketing, ecommerce, sales, product development, and finance.
The person in this role will analyze, distill, and interpret data, uncovering insights that lead to informed business decisions. Additionally, they will lead analysis of large data sets, create data visualization solutions, and identify and resolve data gaps. They will also develop a rich understanding of business needs and objectives to proactively develop KPIs, evaluate the success of strategic initiatives, and identify opportunities.
Scope of Responsibilities:
The individual in this role will:
- Develop complex data analysis, methodologies, and statistical data modeling to discover insights that will guide decisions, uncover optimization opportunities, and ultimately increase sales with top retail customers (Amazon, Walmart, Target, Zulily, etc).
- Track sales trends, evaluate promotional efforts, and collaborate across departments to analyze retailer consumer behavior data.
- Create, restructure, and manage large internal and external datasets to extract relevant reporting data. Build processes and visualizations that transform raw data into actionable business insights.
- Examine, interpret, and report results of initiatives to stakeholders in leadership, sales, marketing, and product teams.
- Identify, evaluate, and document potential data sources in support of project requirements. Lead implementation and ongoing use of Marketing & Sales data subscriptions. Ensure high standards of data quality. Ensure accurate tracking via pixel, tag management, attribution, etc.
- Support marketing in analyzing media plans, performance and optimizations, and evaluate agency and third party provided reporting. Support competitive insights, brand awareness studies and product research.
- Collaborate with Marketing to build testing roadmaps, tracking and reporting for retailer and D2C channels, including ecommerce websites.
- Interface with analytics teams at retail partners and agencies.
- Champion data driven decision making within the marketing, ecommerce, and sales teams while developing a team of analysts.
Requirements/Preferences:
- Bachelor's degree (master's preferred) in an analytics oriented field (e.g., Data Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Applied Math, Business Administration)
- At least 4+ years of experience in a data analyst position, preferably with experience working in report creation, modeling, and trend forecasting.
- Experience using analytics to drive company growth efforts, including increasing revenue, growing share and other key business outcomes.
- Working knowledge of Amazon ARA Premium, Amazon Advertising (Sponsored Ads, AMG, DSP), Target Partners Online, Walmart Retail Link, programmatic ad platforms is a plus
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills and data visualization skills
Technical capabilities:
- Experience working in SQL, including ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries.
- Working knowledge of data mining principles and techniques.
- Practical experience using analytical concepts and statistical techniques: hypothesis development, A/B and multivariate testing, identifying relevant data sets, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations for business units.
- Familiarity with statistical modeling techniques such as GLM multiple regression, logistic regression, log-linear regression, variable selection, etc.
