Association Management Center seeks a Senior Manager, Operations to support two of our clients, Council of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives, (CESSE), and Awards and Personalization Association, (APA). This role is strategic in nature with specific hands-on responsibilities and is an important operational connection between the performance of the client team, service teams and our customers. Through management of operations including membership, education, and committees, programs, board relations, publications, products, and two team members, this role drives to align performance with adding member value and revenue generation.
Role Responsibilities
- Support the Executive Director in Board relations and providing oversight, integration, and management of operations across both clients.
- Oversee the development of Board Meeting agendas and supporting materials; attend all Board Meetings and record minutes.
- Work to develop and maximize the strengths and skillset of direct reports so that they can grow in their careers while contributing to the achievement of client strategic goals.
- Provide leadership and support as a liaison to various committees including Membership, Communications, Awards and Programs.
- Provide leadership and support to the foundation including the annual scholarship program and overseeing the silent auction.
- Provide leadership and guidance to all recruitment and retention membership programs.
- Participate in budget planning process and work with team on the management of expenses and the generation of revenue to meet established budget goals.
- Serve as a conduit for major programs to ensure client team, service teams, and outside vendors work in unison to achieve goals.
Managerial Responsibilities
- Recruit, select and direct staff.
- Facilitate a culture that fosters engaged and high performing direct reports to support the achievement of the goals of AMC.
- Engage in continuous conversations that support high performance and development and growth of direct reports through investing in direct reports in a consistent, productive, and on-going manner.
Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 7-10 years with experience in membership development and volunteer management
- Technology: Microsoft Office, Webinar software, Zoom, e-learning tools
- Strong customer service values, Detail-oriented, Time management, Professionalism, Team player attitude
- Travel: Out-of-state and overnight travel as needed (anticipated 3 times per year). Ability to travel by all modes of transportation including car, plane and train.
- Physical: Sitting, Walking, Standing, Manual Dexterity, Hearing and Seeing.
