ROLE OVERVIEW
LifeStance Health is looking for a Senior Manager, Communications to join its communications team. You will report to the Sr. Director, Communications and play a key role in supporting LifeStance Health’s overarching communications program both externally and internally. Priorities include developing, leading, and executing strategic PR efforts; designing and executing executive thought leadership platforms; drafting internal and external collateral, including messaging, media materials, talking points, internal announcements, etc.; and managing our external PR agency. This role will also partner closely with key functions across the organization, providing an opportunity to broaden your skillset and scope. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional writer who has demonstrated experience growing brand awareness and internal culture through thoughtful, strategic communications efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work to grow LifeStance’s brand awareness through a variety of channels, including business, consumer, and trade press.
- Develop, oversee, and execute strategic PR plans; collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure PR efforts support LifeStance’s business objectives.
- Own LifeStance’s press bureau and spearhead media relations activities that convert to impactful placements.
- Lead development and delivery of messaging, press releases, collateral, contributed content, speaking and awards submissions, etc.
- Lead executive thought leadership initiatives, including contributed content strategy/execution, speaking, and awards submissions.
- Oversee the amplification of key brand partnerships, including referral partners and research collaborations.
- Demonstrate a nuanced understanding of not only the media landscape but also our key competitors.
- Manage the external PR agency and ensure strict adherence to KPIs, deliverable timetables, etc.
- Proactively develop new pitch angles and fodder for media and liaise with the agency on execution.
- Manage multiple projects at once with excellent attention to detail; demonstrate strict adherence to deadlines.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in public relations/strategic communications, either at an agency or in-house.
- Exceptional writing skills are a must. The ideal candidate is well-versed in AP style and has significant experience writing high-quality messaging, collateral, speaking and awards submissions, etc.
- Strong verbal communication skills and project management experience are critical.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with all levels of company management.
- Exceptional media relations skills and demonstrated track record of securing steady cadence of tier 1 placements.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently on projects from start to finish, while also being an excellent collaborator.
- Genuine interest in mental health.
