Saltmarsh is currently seeking a Senior Manager in our Client Accounting & Advisory Services practice that sees themselves as a leader who wants to join a firm that fosters both personal and professional development and supports the drive for advancement. This person could work hybrid from one of our offices in Pensacola, Orlando or Tampa, Florida. Responsibilities:
- Manage the Accounting Services personnel including oversight in the hiring process, ensuring team is properly trained and annual performance evaluations are completed timely
- Oversee client service assignments and monitor completion of work deliverables
- Participate in coaching, advising and supporting personnel in meeting client and professional development expectations
- Utilize technology to streamline processes and recommend areas for increased client efficiency and reduction in operating costs
- Skilled in functionality and compliance of accounting software utilized by clients
- Develop and maintain technical knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations as it pertains to accounting services
- Provide clients with a well-developed strategic plan to execute their financial goals and optimize profitability
- Participate in business development and identify opportunities to cross-sell value-added services to clients
- Meet with prospective clients, prepare proposals, and follow up on referrals to determine the need for CAAS services
- Establish the practice’s objectives, revenue, client and staff projections and identify opportunities to improve engagement profitability
- Timely completes billing and monitors KPI’s for the practice
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
- 8+ years of experience private/public accounting
- Certified Public Accountant designation or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of tools, systems and processes and their practical applications
- Strong knowledge in accounting principles and practices
- A general and growing knowledge of firm products and services in the practice area
- Solid technical knowledge in accounting and business management software; e.g., QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online (Enterprise, Premier, etc), and Financial Cents are strongly preferred.
- Experience with Xero, Sage, Intacct and Bill.com would be ideal.
- Ability to evaluate and motivate team members
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Able to anticipate problems/barriers and help develop plans to address them
