Peraton is seeking an experienced Senior Manager for Software Engineering to lead programs for TT&C, Satellite Mission Management, and Scheduling in support of our mission critical customers and the OS/COMET COTS software product. Position is located in our Melbourne, FL office, and will allow for occasional telework.
Responsibilities:
- Leading a software development team across all phases and functions of development, utilizing Agile development methodologies to ensure project objectives are met or exceeded.
- Development of satellite ground station and mission management systems.
- Collaborating with product/program managers to define project requirements, scope, and deliverables.
- Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
- Develop program schedules and lead the effort to meet or exceed the program milestones.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and a minimum of 12 years of experience; MS/MA and 10 years of relevant experience; PhD and 7 years of relevant experience.
- Strong supervisory or management experience.
- Experience designing and developing software-based systems, specifically with the OS/COMET TT&C software product.
- Experience in systems specification: Concept of Operations, Requirements / Use Cases / User Stories, System Test Plans
- Experience managing multi-mission systems for both terrestrial and space weather programs
- Experience in multiple disciplines including hardware, software, and networks.
- Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering with one or more SysML tools
- Experience with the Agile/Scrum Product Development Cycle
- Understanding of DevSecOps practices and CI/CD methodologies
- Active TS/SCI
- United States Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting mission critical programs for NOAA and NASA is highly desired
- Experience supporting large commercial satellite communication customers, such as Telesat
- Experience in space systems technologies and support equipment
- Familiarity with development toolsets such as Git, Gradle, Jira, BitBucket, and Crucible
- Understanding of RF and optical communications links
- Understanding of NIST cybersecurity framework and application to DoD and commercial applications

Target Salary Range
$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
