The West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing, Inc. (WSFSSH) is a community-based organization whose mission is to provide safe, affordable housing with supportive services within a residential setting which enhances the independence and dignity of each person. WSFSSH develops, manages, and provides housing for low- income older persons, many of whom live with mental illness and/or have experienced homelessness.
Position Summary
The Senior HR Recruiter is responsible for executing recruiting plans and utilizing strategies that attract top talent. The Recruiter II will be responsible for managing and coordinating the full recruiting lifecycle, ensuring the company attracts and hires the right candidates for open job roles.
Locate talent
- Work closely with hiring managers to gain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s hiring needs for every role, and to meet hiring goals and expectations.
- Create comprehensive job descriptions that present thorough representations of organizational positions.
- Collaborate with the budget team on vacancy reporting and approved salary ranges.
- Use the organization’s applicant tracking system to open and post available positions.
- Source pools of qualified candidates using passive and active candidate sourcing techniques including but not limited to: social media forums, career fairs, community outreach, job boards, professional networks, educational and technical institutions and employee referrals.
- Act as a brand ambassador for WSFSSH, promoting our employer brand and value proposition to prospective candidates.
Screening and Interviewing:
- Review applications and resumes to filter qualified candidates for phone screening.
- Conduct initial applicant phone screening to identify qualified candidates to be passed to hiring managers for consideration.
- Appropriately status and disposition candidates throughout the screening process.
- Assist hiring managers to arrange candidate interviews, gather interview feedback from interview team, and provide guidance on next steps.
Communication /Relationship Strategy:
- Establish strong relationships with candidates by maintaining regular and timely communications and providing updates on their application status.
- Assist candidates by helping them navigate the timely completion of successful background checks to ensure onboarding by the assigned start date.
- Gather feedback on candidate experience, analyze trends, and collaborate with Talent Acquisition Manager on recruitment initiatives to positively impact the candidate’s experience.
- Maintain candidate records of active and passive prospects including documentation of phone calls, emails and other correspondence between the organization and applicants.
- Provide ongoing and timely updates to hiring managers on candidate statuses, background check progress, and start dates to internal stakeholders.
Reporting Metrics:
- Track and report on recruitment metrics, including but not limited to: time-to-fill, source of hire, offer acceptance rate, quality of hire, and candidate experience.
- Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of success.
Recruitment Strategy:
- Assist with the development and execution of comprehensive recruitment strategies and the development of ongoing trainings and presentations on recruitment efforts.
- Collaborate with leadership, hiring managers, and Talent Acquisition Manager to understand the hiring needs and goals of the department.
- Stay relevant with recruiting tools and resources, industry trends and market hiring and salary trends to better understand our competitive landscape.
Requirements
- 4-year degree from an accredited college or university.
- At least 5 years of full-cycle, high-volume recruiting experience, preferably in the non-profit arena.
- Advanced knowledge of applicant tracking systems, database management, and internet search methods.
- Have a creative problem-solving ability to figure out the solution yourself, dealing with ambiguity will be key.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and as a team.
