Position Details
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Entails helping to establish short, medium, and long-term implementation objectives for policy updates, conflict management projects, and Workplace Excellence branding.
- Manages the UHR Policy Inquiry inbox.
- Duties range from project management, high level administrative support for a team of professionals, addressing client inquiries in a courteous and professional manner, scheduling meetings as necessary, drafting correspondence, and assisting in creating presentation materials.
- Tasks also include data entry and analysis, as well as working with UHR IT staff to update and maintain websites and procedures as operating systems/services are changed or enhanced.
- Creates reports, presentations, and other written documents for distribution to HR staff, University leaders, and employees across the University community.
- Follows up with HR teams and on behalf of the Assistant Vice President for Workplace Culture and the Director of Policy and Employment Practices on action items as necessary to ensure deadlines are met.
- Provides back-up executive assistant support for the SVP of Human Resources.
- Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned based on departmental need.
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Also requires two years of relevant experience.
- HR background with strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to think strategically.
- Comfortable managing difficult situations, while presenting a high level of professional maturity, diplomacy, resiliency and adaptability.
- Demonstrated ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in higher education.
- Five years of relevant experience.
- Microsoft Office.
