GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
We're looking for a talented Sr Human Resources Generalist to join the onsite HR team at our Fulfillment Center. To support our rapidly growing company, the successful candidate must be an organized team player who is able to manage multiple priorities at once. They will be immersed in all things related to our employees, and will support HR initiatives, projects, and programs. The Sr HR Generalist will be responsible for partnering with teams on all activities from employee relations, performance management and employee engagement. The Sr HR Generalist will demonstrate sound moral character and judgment: decisions come from a fact-based and informed position. S/he will possess outstanding skills of time management and professionalism, and have exemplary written and oratory skills. This position requires a self-starter, who is detail oriented and completes tasks and assignments in a timely fashion.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Actively pursue knowledge of business practices, policies, roles and responsibilities to better understand the business
  • Partner with Leadership to resolve employee relations issues; provide coaching and counseling to employees of all levels
  • Build relationships with staff at all levels; ensure that new employees integrate effectively into the organization
  • Ability to facilitate and conduct trainings for hourly and management team, leading to positive associate outcomes
  • Partner with management to resolve employee relation issues; provide coaching, counseling and guidance to management and staff; collaborate with legal counsel on issues as appropriate
  • Drive accountability throughout the organization; improve working relationships, increase employee engagement and improve associate retention
  • HRIS management; process changes, run reports, monitor and audit as needed for data integrity. Partner with HR Operations for higher level cases
  • Manage restrictions, accommodations, and worker's comp cases
  • Manage leave of absences for employees of all levels; complete initial intake, follow ups, tracking, and the return to work process. Follow up with LOA provider to ensure accurate claim data
  • Ensure all employee inquiries are being handled in a timely manner to provide excellent customer service
  • Support the HR team as needed; assist with payroll, conduct audits, respond to unemployment claims, complete employment verifications, and oversee employee transfer process
  • Host orientations; present to both large and small groups. Partner with recruiting to complete onboarding, and ensure system back-end orientation tasks are completed
  • Partner closely with other HR teams to support company initiatives, programs, and projects
  • Support all health, safety, and well-being initiatives
  • Knowledge of all federal, state and local laws impacting the facility
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
  • You've worked in an environment with hourly and salaried employees in an HR support role
  • Ability to artfully conduct investigations and deliver recommendations based on details obtained
  • Ability to speak fluent Spanish or Creole/French is preferred
  • Experience with HRIS, Dayforce highly preferred
  • You're willing to work flexibly hours, including nights and weekends, to match our production environment
Experience / Education
  • Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of Human Resources experience in a distribution, operations, creative, hospitality, retail, or brand-focused environment
  • Solid knowledge of employment law and NJ State law
  • Experience in accurate documentation of events, details, and situations to support HR investigations and employee relations situations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT/WORK CONDITIONS
Working Conditions: Work is primarily conducted in the office and food production environment. This position may require night, holiday and/or weekend work. Ability to work in cold temperatures at times, when needed on the production floor.
