The Role
EnergyX is looking for a highly motivated Senior Financial Analyst to assist in providing financial reporting and data analytics to the company's management team to best support executive decision-making and translate analyses into easy-to-understand presentations. The Senior Financial Analyst will actively manage the design, testing, implementation, and review of complex manual and automated financial and accounting systems and processes. The role will report to CFO of the company. The work environment is demanding, fast-paced, and incredibly exciting. Our ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously, have fundraising experience, and have previously interacted with investors and members of a Board.
Responsibilities
- Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
- Develop monthly tracking, including variance analysis of actual performance against targets.
- Produce insights and recommendations to optimize financial outcomes.
- Reporting and Metrics:
- Prepare analyses, metrics/KPIs and dashboards to report to management and stakeholders.
- Evaluate trends, patterns, and areas of concern and present findings to management.
- Identify areas for cost optimization.
- Collaborate closely with business unit leaders, providing financial insights, analysis, and recommendations.
- Develop specific packages as required by external stakeholders (e.g. government agencies).
- Fundraising:
- Manage fundraising activity for the company.
- Work closely with investors to provide communication and updates internally and externally during fundraising processes.
- Internal Collaboration:
- Work closely with various teams, including Finance, Accounting, Legal, Engineering, and Technology to ensure alignment and accuracy of financial data.
- Provide support during monthly/quarterly close processes, audits, and other financial activities.
- Other:
- Ability to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing.
- Utilize the available time to organize, prioritize, and complete work within given deadlines.
- Comprehend complex commercial, technical, and specialized information.
- Analyze information, problem-solve, and make recommendations for decisions.
- Stay motivated, ambitious, and curious without the help of others.
- Prioritize work and ensure timely completion of various projects.
Requirements
- BS degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
- CPA or CFA designation is a plus
- Previous experience in a start-up, banks (transaction services; at an associate level), and private equity preferred.
- 3-5 years experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) or related field.
- Exceptional financial modeling skills and ability to create dashboards
- Fundraising experience necessary.
- Previous experience with investor interactions necessary.
- Power BI and/or Tableau experience.
- Experience with Quickbooks preferred.
Benefits
- Salary Range is $120,000 -$140,000 based on experience and qualifications.
