Kearney & Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Analyst. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting detailed financial analysis, developing budgets, performing cost estimation, and providing recommendations to optimize financial resources for the government/Department of Defense client. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including budgeting, decision support, financial execution, data analysis, continuous process improvement and business process reengineering and budget operations across DoD appropriations and Working Capital Funds.
- Prepare financial reports and presentations for management, highlighting key insight and recommendations.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop financial models and support business initiatives.
- Assist with the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and controls.
- Participate in budget planning resource allocation processes.
- Maintain currency on Federal/DoD Financial Management trends, financial regulations, new/revised legislation policies, and best practices to enhance financial analysis capabilities.
- Provide guidance and support junior team members in financial analysis and reporting.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum 10+ years experience as Financial Analyst or Budget Analyst
- At least 5 years with DoD FM experience
- Strong knowledge of financial analysis techniques, budgeting principles, and cost estimation methods
- Proficient in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, etc.
- Experience with Department of the Air Force Financial Accounting and Budgetary systems (e.g., DEAMS, CRIS, BQ, FMSuite, AFM, etc.)
- Familiarity with federal government financial management regulations, including OMB Circulars and FASAB Standards
- Must be located in the NCR and onsite with client at least 3 days a week
- Must have interim Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration preferred
- DAF Reimbursement experience
- Experience with higher headquarters programs/platforms (e.g., Program Budget Accounting System [PBAS], Task Management Tool [TMT], Advana, etc.)
- Relevant certifications DoD FM Certification, CPA, CGFM, CDFM, etc. is a plus
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and within a team to manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
