Senior Electrical Engineer - Pcb Design

Our client near Austin is a fast-growing manufacturer of precision electronic equipment for commercial and government applications and they are looking to add a Senior Electrical Engineer with experience in conceptualization and design of PCB boards. The person in this position will be meeting with end user customers to learn about their requirements and transferring that to efficient PCB designs for production and incorporation into their high precision electronic equipment. SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Conceptualize and design new PCB layouts in consideration of component cost / performance tradeoffs and overall system architecture
• Develop and implement electronic test procedures using equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.
• Meet with end user customers to understand their requirements and transfer that to efficient board designs
• Work with internal PCB team members, as well as contract PCB manufacturer, to make sure that PCB designs are effectively transferred to robust boards
• Communicate project status updates to both internal leadership team, customers, and other interested parties
• Job is Monday – Friday ~8 am – 5 pm; 40 hours per week in office but with lots of flexibility

SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum BS in Electrical Engineering and at least 3-10+ years of relevant experience
• PCB conceptualization and layout experience using CAD programs (Altium, OrCAD, etc.)
• PCB design simulation, review and validation processes
• Experience with Gerber format and PCB BOM generation / optimization
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Capable and willing to speak with customers and internal vendors to get information needed to product the best product
