Summary of Role
The Senior Director of USCI Operations & Services will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee all distributed generation & power plant operations activities in the North American organization -- ensuring development and implementation of customer centric, safe and efficient operations to meet current and future needs of the organization.
Position requires travel of up to 40% of the time.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish, implement, and communicate the strategic direction of the organizations operations division.
- Develop annual strategic plan and 5-year budget forecasts
- Accountable for the annual P&L, cash management and risk management related to two P&L divisions
- Establish and administer the department’s budget.
- Ensure all members of the services team have a defined career path and objectives established
- Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems.
- Collaborate with other divisions and departments to carry out the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Ensure that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organizations business plan and vision.
- Oversee the coordination of key people responsible for compliance (NERC/CIP) and control center work.
- Establish, communicate, and implement operational related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.
- Review and approve cost-control reports, cost estimates, and department staffing requirements/needs.
- Present performance reports and metrics to the chief executive officer and other leadership.
- Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management.
- Identify training needs and ensure proper training is developed and provided.
- Coordinates activities to assure optimum safety and environmental compliance, plant and site efficiency and reliability, in accordance with established contracts, agreements, policies and applicable regulatory laws and procedures
- Foster customer relationships and maintain contract compliance
- Participate in resolving issues with customers concerning billings, plant/site performance, outages, and any potential shortfalls to meet expectations and/or contract requirements
- Maintaining plant/site capacity rates by adhering to an equipment performance program and providing adequate personnel to perform the program
- Keeping operating errors to a minimum by way of established detection, investigation, communication and corrective programs
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, regional and local governing body and regulatory agency rules and regulations as they pertain to power plant/DG operation
- Maintain effective channels of communication and cooperation among and between plant /Site personnel and other departments and divisions in the organization as appropriate
- Requires Travel of up to 40% of the time.

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, Engineering, or other industry-related field required; MBA preferred.
