RESPONSIBILITIES OF A SENIOR PROGRAM DIRECTOR OF EARLY LEARNING:

  • Provides direct support to the operations of assigned Early Learning Centers, developing the Early Learning Team and ensuring high-quality operations.
  • Supports the recruitment and hiring of Early Learning employees and volunteers.
  • Provides coaching, training, mentoring and technical assistance specific to Early Learning and Center Management to Early Learning and Branch employees.
  • Develops a comprehensive training and development plan for Early Learning roles in partnership with the Executive Director of Early Learning.
  • Serves a subject matter expert for Early Learning for the association, providing support to the Early Learning Cabinet.
  • Assesses and monitors Early Learning programs for alignment and compliance to AZ-DHS licensing standards, Quality First standards and YMCA best practices.
  • Supports the development of plans for the expansion of Early Learning programs and services, in harmony with overall YMCA objectives and the Leadership Team.
  • Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.
  • Provides staff support for assigned committees. Provides staff leadership for Annual Support Campaign.

REQUIREMENTS TO BE A SENIOR PROGRAM DIRECTOR OF EARLY LEARNING:

  • Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Human Services, Recreation, Business or a related field,
    or equivalent, preferred.
  • Five or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
  • Ability to direct assigned operations including volunteer development, supervision
    of staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations,
    and program development.
  • Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team/Branch Leader Certification preferred.
