Purpose
This position reports to the Director of Data Management and resides on the Data Engineering and Integrations team. The Sr. Data Quality/Integrations Engineer will take ownership of end-to-end Data Quality and will work closely with the Applications Development, Records Management, and Reporting and Analytics teams and fellow integrations engineers to ensure that data assets relating to both applications and business intelligence systems are accurate, consistent, and reliable. The Sr. Data Quality/Integrations Engineer will be a key contributor for University Development Office's upcoming new CRM (Customer Resource Management) implementation.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure high quality of data delivered to internal stakeholders and users within the University Development Office
  • Identify, rectify, and continually improve quality of data in current and future CRM
  • Identify, architect, and implement process improvements to data systems
  • Create diagnostic reports on Data Quality issues
  • Clean and append data from 3rd party vendors into application layer databases
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure and performant integration/ETL pipelines from source system to DW/BI environment
  • Maintain data integrity within warehouse ecosystem.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot nightly data loads
  • May occasionally require extended work hours or on-call duties

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 2+ years of experience with database management
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL development
  • 2+ years of experience with building integrations/ETL pipelines
  • Experience working with AWS and other cloud based tools (Delta Lake, DBT, Cloud Formation, Redshift, etc.)
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries and working with large amounts of data
  • Experience with data appends and data cleansing techniques
  • Experience with data analysis
  • Experience with shell scripting: Perl, Python, Bash or similar
  • Demonstrated understanding of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence concepts
  • Demonstrated understanding of SDLC concepts
  • Demonstrated understanding of Data Ops concepts
  • Must be authorized to work for the US. We are unable to sponsor H1B visas at this time
  • Attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to shift priorities quickly, without losing track of projects
  • Skilled at data analysis, documentation, and troubleshooting
  • Aptitude at acquiring business knowledge and translating business needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively across several different teams

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • More than three years of applicable experience
  • Substantial experience with Oracle
  • Experience with integrations and scheduling tools such as AWS Glue, Mulesoft, and Stonebranch
  • Experience with AWS tools: Cloud Formation, IAM, VPC, EC2, S3, Redshift, RDS Postgres, etc.
  • Experience working with sensitive data (ie. HIPAA, FERPA, PCI)
  • Experience with Linux system administration in an enterprise environment
  • Familiarity with UT Austin ITS resources
  • Familiarity with fundraising and advancement business processes

Salary Range
$95,000 + depending on qualifications
