The Division of Research & Innovation is committed to supporting, facilitating, and empowering the growth of sustainable research at UNT. This mission is achieved by facilitating an interdisciplinary approach to research - a catalyst for discovery and innovation - that has cemented UNT's status as a Tier One research university. Overseen by the Vice President of Research and Innovation, the division is comprised of multiple units including: Grants and Contracts Administration, Research Integrity & Compliance, Research Commercial Agreements, Research Development, and multiple research institutes and research service centers.
Position Overview
The Sr Data Analyst within the Division of Research & Innovation will assist with developing automated data queries and scripts to extract research and financial data from multiple systems including EIS, data warehouse, and Huron-GRAMS. Sr Data Analyst will also produce sophisticated, visual, and end-user friendly reporting that will be utilized campus-wide by university administration, faculty, and staff. This position will report to the Assoc. Director, Research Administration Information Systems & Analytics.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field and two years of data analysis work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Advanced mathematical and technical ability.
Advanced analytical and reasoning skills.
Advanced knowledge of statistical packages and relational database design and logic.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including Access and Excel.
Proficiency in specific software and programming languages required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Data Analytics or Information Systems and Technology preferred.
- Strong data analysis skills with the ability to identify patterns and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Proficiency in SQL, Advanced Excel (Including VBA Scripting) and data visualization tools like Power BI for effective data presentation.
- Fundamental knowledge of accounting and financial data analysis.
- Familiarity with Python scripting and the Machine Learning Cycle.
Required License / Registration / Certification Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. Some evenings and weekends as required.

Act as a liaison between business and divisional teams to produce actionable analyses and collaborate effectively on accurate and actionable reports.

Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business needs and prioritize data quality and accuracy in research analysis.

Maintain open communication with management, perform special projects as assigned by supervisor, and stay updated with emerging data analysis tools and trends

Create comprehensive documentation of data analysis processes and generate periodic reports to track and communicate key insights.
