At the Senior level, the incumbent performs all the tasks of the BIM Coordinator position with the following additional considerations:
- Can operate autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Can lead and complete complex design assist projects interfacing with general contractors, architects, and engineers to help lead the overall design process.
- Is capable of handling multiple demanding coordination efforts with travel as needed.
- Is thoroughly familiar with Swisslog Healthcare’s design concepts and will be able to coordinate the largest and most complex Swisslog Healthcare systems. These systems may employ new or prototype technologies.
- Can guide the work of less experienced BIM Coordinators and Design Drafters and may act in a lead capacity.
- Can train less experienced BIM Coordinators and Design Drafters, both in Swisslog Healthcare design practices and in general design/drafting techniques.
- Conducts 3D “model peer reviews” of the work of BIM Coordinators and Design Drafters.
- Exercises creativity in layout design while maintaining budget and performance needs.
- Attend coordination meetings and negotiate with trade contractors.
- Employ clash detection software (Navisworks) to eliminate conflicts.
- Ensure Swisslog Healthcare system receives priority in the MEP coordination process.
- Coordinate supplementary items such as equipment supports and hangers, floor and wall penetrations, and electrical requirements.
- Assist Project Manager with material takeoffs.
- Identify constructability issues and address with project team.
- Assist Project Manager with tasks stemming from MEP coordination: RFI (Request for
- Information) support, review of construction documents, etc.
- Assist project manager in identifying scope changes due to RFI’s, ASI’s (Architects
- Supplemental Instructions) etc.
- Participate in jobsite “walk downs” with trade contractors, design professionals,
- subcontractors, and Swisslog Healthcare installation crews.
- Develop submittal sets and installation drawings from coordinated layouts.
- Manage multiple tasks.
- Meet or exceed assigned deadlines.
- Meet project coordination budget.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
This is a hybrid position that requires in-office work 2 days per week.
The position will report to our Dallas office in Farmers Branch, Texas, or to our Denver office in Westminster, CO.
