Rondo Energy's mission is to eliminate 15% of global CO2 emissions in 15 years.
To accomplish this mission, Rondo is deploying low-cost, zero-carbon Rondo Heat Batteries to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy and to significantly decarbonize industrial processes that are commonly thought of as "difficult-to-decarbonize". Our Heat Batteries charge from intermittent renewables to provide high temperature, continuous heat for customers safely, reliably, at an unprecedented 98% efficiency - and at a cost point that is lower than any other method.
We are looking for an experienced, customer-centric Sr. Control Engineer to join our team and repower industrial heat at scale. This role will be responsible for development of simulation models, design and troubleshooting of control algorithms for energy storage system.

What We Offer:
This role necessitates being on-site at our Alameda HQ 3-5 days per week. The estimated annual salary range for this role is $180,000 to $215,000 and it would be eligible for Rondo's excellent benefits listed above plus additional compensation in the form of equity. Please note that some pay bands may have wide ranges of compensation to accommodate candidates' diverse sets of skill levels and experience.

What You Will Do (key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to):
- Develop and enhance PV plant interfacing control system, covering functional requirements and write/design development documentation.
- Responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and testing solutions dynamic systems control
- Lead new design of detailed system models in Matlab Simulink and corresponding control system
- Cooperate with multiple teams to improve existing systems control
- Test for system stability, response, and overall behavior
- Be responsible for industrial process automation
- Excellent in System troubleshooting and problem solving
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelors or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years of experience in system control and/or electrical engineering
- Proven experience in State machine design, PID Controllers design, control design for power conversion
- Simulink/NPSS Simulation and final product delivery
- Proficiency in Matlab-Simulink (Simscape), C/C++, SQL
- Strong understanding of system stability & Mathematical concepts/abilities
- Proven experience with development processes from documentation to specifications and testing document

- User experience in data acquisition system
- Database usage and queries language
- Knowledge of Photovoltaic system operation and response
- Python scripting for data processing
- C/C++ programing for embedded SW
