Senior Construction Accountant

Compensation: $65,000 to $80,000

Position is available immediately

Experienced Senior Construction Accountant needed for an established construction company in Panama City. Looking for someone that is self-sufficient, driven, able to work in a fast pace environment, and ready for a long term career position. Candidate must be able to remember and meet deadlines. The Accountant reports to the Owner.

The essential job duties shall include, but not limited to:

• Proficient use of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Comply with all company, local, state, and federal accounting and financial regulations.
• Compile, analyze and report financial data.
• Create and enter journal entries.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements.
• Create periodic reports, such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements, etc.
• Present data to managers.
• Maintain accurate financial records.
• Perform audits of company expenses, general ledger accounts, job costs, and vendor accounts and work with internal and external resources to resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with other departments on ad hoc projects to ensure needed information is provided in a proper and timely manner.
• Compile information for, and work with external accountants on audit, review, and tax matters.
• Remain informed about current legislation relating to finance and accounting.
• Aide management in the decision-making process by preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
• Perform other related duties as may be requested by the Owner.

Ideal candidate will have these qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• A CPA is a plus, but not required.
• Minimum of 3-5 years accounting experience in construction highly preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be authorized to work in the United States.
• Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
• Highly organized and detail oriented; complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision.
• Must be reliable and able to work in an office environment.
• Able to pass drug screen and background check.
• Understanding of mathematics, accounting, and financial processes.
