The Role:
As a Sr. Buyer, you will be responsible for purchase of all or a specific portion of productive and/or non-productive materials, supplies, machinery, tooling and/or services. You will actively participate in development of commodity strategy, sourcing/negotiations, global/regional material budget execution, and interface with suppliers or internal stakeholders. The work is of a complex nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, analytical work and a high level of independent judgment!
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelors degree
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
Ability to work effectively cross functionally, both internally and externally and build relationships
Experience with commodities (metals, stampings, castings, plastics, resins, paint, electronics, etc.)
Experience managing commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance
Demonstrated competence in negotiating skills
High level of analytical ability where problems can be extremely complex
Developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
Proficient with Microsoft office products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Experience with SAP and MRP Systems
