Role: Senior Business Systems Analyst Contract 6 to 9 months Local to San Jose, CAObjective: The Client is looking for a resource to conduct an assessment of current Audio-Visual systems for Remote Participation Meetings. This assessment will also help guide the gathering of requirements for a future solicitation.Typical Deliverables: Overview of request from Clerk of the Board (COB) Engage AV Consultant to assist with the following. Complete a survey of AV facilities in the County.Remote Public Participation Meetings supportReview current architecture and bill of materials. Provide a report that includes but is not limited to. Equipment InventoryRack elevationSchematic diagramEngage with stakeholders to identify must-haves, nice-to-haves, what works and what does not. Stakeholders should include Clerk of the Board, Facilities and Fleet (FAF), TSS Multimedia teams.Depending on what new equipment may be included in the design, TSS should have a say, one that includes equipment influenced by TSS for support purposes.Articulate plans for expansion, capacity planning, and failure recovery. Must also consider constraints with existing and new space and infrastructure, e.g., cutover planning.As we discussed on the call, this may mean building something net new in parallel to reduce down-time, as Board Meetings will continue as planned.Design and defend a standard vendor-agnostic architectural plan that meets the needs of the County (which by virtue of being vendor-agnostic should allow the use of current purchased equipment) considering requirements (including hardware, software, interfaces, and support), priorities, dependencies, constraints (including building and TSS standards), and available options and trade off analysis. Depending on what new equipment may be included in the design, TSS and FAF should have a say, one that includes equipment influenced by TSS for support purposes.Provide functional, technical, business, installation, training, and support requirements to build, test, migrate and support the AV system. Should also assist COB in drafting RFP. As you may know, last two attempts by the department and by the former BRM, did not clear requirements gate.Full-scope consulting services, which includes design and documentation, plus construction administration, project management, and oversight of the contractors. Assist with Bidders conference, RFI's, etc.Stay on to provide oversight of Vendor installation.Required Skills & Abilities:AV Consultant with AV Design capabilities who can assess the current AV systems for Remote Public Participation Meetings, including, but not limited to, Event Spaces, Control Rooms, IT Space and Infrastructure, etc.
