Description
The San Francisco Conservatory of Music seeks an IT Sr. Business Systems Analyst, who will provide technical solutions to meet the evolving business needs of the organization. The analyst will implement new technical initiatives; streamline, automate, and simplify processes; and educate staff, faculty, and students in effective use of the technologies and processes. The individual in the position requires an understanding of a variety of technologies as well as a willingness and ability to learn new technologies. The IT Sr. Business Systems Analyst reports to and collaborates with the AVP of Information Technology. In addition, the analyst will assist the other IT staff members to support all Faculty, Staff and students at SFCM with their technology needs.
Primary Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the Systems Administrator, provides backup support for database systems such as the Student Information System (PowerCampus); Financial Aid Systems (PowerFAIDs); scheduling software (EMS); admission software (Slate); Student Billing (Nelnet) and other business critical software.
  • Manages the integration and stewardship of data resources to ensure a common view, ease of access and efficient business processes.
  • Manages the implementation of new systems and processes.
  • Investigates and documents current business processes as they relate to use of technology and identifies and implements process improvements.
  • Troubleshoots issues with systems and the data integration points between systems.
  • Plans and manages improvements to existing systems to increase overall organization efficiencies and effectiveness.
  • Leads the process of gathering objectives and requirements for projects such as implementing a new Student Information System.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree and 10 years of IT experience, or an equivalent of education and experience.
  • A thorough understanding of relational databases and data extraction
  • Experience with implementation and support of Business Systems
  • Experience managing systems in a Windows environment and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Google Suite for Education (Gmail; Google Apps; Google Classroom).
  • Business process improvement experience.
  • Vendor management experience.

  • The ability to present well, with a professional and friendly manner, and able to communicate with the tech savvy as well as those who may think they are not technically inclined.

  • Enjoys collaborating to address problems.

Schedule, Salary and Benefits
This position is Exempt. The anticipated annualized starting salary is $100,000 to $130,000, depending on experience. Medical, dental, vision, life, Long Term Disability and other available benefits become available on the first of the month following the date of hire. Employees accrue sick and vacation leave, and SFCM provides a generous holiday schedule that includes summer Fridays off and Winter Break. SFCM encourages employees to participate in a defined contribution plan (403b) and matches 5% of W-2 earnings after two qualifying years of service.
