- Attend coordination meetings and negotiate with trade contractors.
- At the request of the project management team, assist in the coordination of the MEP trades to develop BIM programs.
- At the request of the project management team, review MEP proposed change order requests.
- Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g. customers, suppliers, employees). Maintain relationships to ensure needs are met and problems/conflicts are resolved.
- Develop and/or nurture relations with key MEP designers to help improve/maintain communications with our project management team.
- Report to Vice President any significant issues observed that could potentially have a negative impact on the project or company.
- Assist the preconstruction staff in the preconstruction process (budgets, scope review, constructability, scheduling, bid day preparation, proposal breakdowns, bid leveling, etc).
- At the request of the preconstruction group, assist in preparing and/or presenting to Owners on new projects.
- At the request of the project management team, conduct MEP project inspections to ensure quality, contract compliance, percent complete, etc.
- Establish, develop and nurture relationships with key MEP subcontractors with whom we have ongoing work. Develop informal, but professional, partnerships that are mutually beneficial.
- Perform such other special assignments as may be requested by company management. These could be on-time, unique tasks or ongoing assignments.
- At the request of the project management team, review MEP submittal data prior to submission to the design team.
- Must be willing to travel if required.
- Communicate and reinforce Swisslog Healthcare (SLHC)'s vision, mission and core values.
- Employ clash detection software to eliminate conflicts.
- Ensure SLHC system receives priority in the MEP coordination process.
- Coordinate supplementary items such as equipment supports and hangers, floor and wall penetrations, and electrical requirements.
- Assist Project Manager with material takeoffs.
- Identify constructability issues and address with project team.
- Assist Project Manager with tasks stemming from MEP coordination: RFI (Request for Information) support, review of construction documents, etc.
- Assist project manager in identifying scope changes due to RFIs, ASIs (Architects Supplemental Instructions), etc.
- Participate in jobsite “walk downs” with trade contractors, design professionals, subcontractors, and SLHC installation crews.
- Develop submittal sets and installation drawings from coordinated layouts.
- Manage multiple tasks, and meet or exceed assigned deadlines.
- Meet or exceed project coordination budget.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
- Exercise creativity in layout design while maintaining budget and performance needs.
- Ability to handle multiple large, complex SLHC projects.
- Help train and mentor Design Drafters and BIM Coordinators.
- Conduct 3D model reviews of the work of BIM Coordinators and Design Drafters.
