SUMMARY
The Senior Associate for Global Development Policy will support the Global Development Policy Team in their advocacy efforts with the federal government on a range of Global Development issues. You will be responsible for managing a variety of analytical, research, policy development and government relations projects related to priority areas of U.S. Global Development Policy. Reporting to the Managing Director of Global Development Policy, you will work with members of the Global Development Policy team as well as others in the Policy, Advocacy and Campaigns (PAC) division, programmatic and research staff in International Programs (IP), and external coalitions and NGO partners.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 2 years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with and demonstrated interest in federal policymaking and the federal legislative process
- Proven analytical ability, including the ability to produce written analytical and research summaries
- Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver multiple projects and assignments, often with competing priorities and deadlines
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with direction, using informed time management and problem-solving
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
- Professional proficiency in written and spoken English
- Professional proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Enthusiasm for teamwork
- Enthusiasm for advocacy and government relations work
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or relevant coursework in Global Development Policy
- Demonstrated experience supporting government, government relations, policy, advocacy, or public affairs
- Excellent organizational skills
