The Senior Application Analyst is responsible for the management, analysis, and enhancement of various software applications critical to the firm’s operations. This position will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions.
KEY CONTRIBUTIONS
• Provide day-to-day technical support for assigned applications, including issue resolution, troubleshooting, and incident management
• Ensure the smooth functioning of applications, minimizing downtime and service interruptions
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their application needs, functional requirements, and user workflows, and translate into actionable tasks for development or enhancement
• Analyze existing application systems, identify weaknesses, and propose improvements to optimize performance, efficiency, and user experience
• Conduct thorough testing of software applications to ensure their functionality, performance, and security
• Manage the implementation and deployment of new applications or updates
• Create and maintain detailed documentation, including user guides, system configurations, and application-related information
• Assist in data migration, integration, and validation processes, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across applications
• Develop and conduct training sessions for end-users/peers to ensure proper understanding and effective utilization of applications
• Collaborate with external software vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to third-party applications
• Ensure that applications comply with firm security policies and industry regulations; participate in security assessments and vulnerability remediation efforts
• Suggest and implement improvements to enhance the overall IT infrastructure based on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to application management
THE ESSENTIALS
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Two or more years of experience supporting desktop technology in a professional services environment preferred
• Strong knowledge of software application lifecycles
• Familiarity with various databases and legal vertical software systems
• Proficiency in application integration and data exchange techniques
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex issues
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
• Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., ITIL, SQL, etc.) are advantageous
• Highly organized, detail-orientated, proactive with a desire to take ownership
• Balance competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment, exercising patience and professionalism during stressful situations
• Ability to work independently and with a team
