Job Details:A Global Food Company is seeking a highly-motivated and experienced professional to lead our Ethics team. The Chief Counsel (Senior Director) of Ethics and Internal Investigations will oversee all aspects of internal investigations, ensure compliance with company policies, and promote ethical practices across the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and manage A Global Food Company's Ethics team, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of internal investigations related to ethical concerns and compliance issues.
- Work on continuous improvements to the company's internal investigations program by regularly reviewing and refining investigation processes and methods, as well as establishing clear protocols and best practices.
- Scale the investigations program to handle increased volume and complexity as the company grows, leveraging technology and resources efficiently.
- Prepare quarterly and annual reports on calls received through the Ethics line, detailing investigation outcomes, trends, and remediation actions.
- Analyze data from investigations to identify patterns, risks, and proactive opportunities for improving the company's ethical practices.
- Report to senior leadership on significant investigations and trends.
- Work closely with A Global Food Company's Human Resources, Security, and Safety Teams to coordinate investigations and ensure a comprehensive approach to identifying and remediating issues.
- Serve as a primary point of contact with federal and local authorities on matters involving A Global Food Company locations and team members, ensuring timely and accurate communication and cooperation.
- Develop, update, and implement policies and procedures governing internal investigations and related processes.
- Ensure all policies and procedures align with legal requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
- Promote a culture of ethics and compliance within A Global Food Company, providing training and resources to employees at all levels.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the ethics program and recommend enhancements as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in ethics, compliance, or internal investigations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in building and scaling programs for internal investigations or ethics.
- Strong knowledge of ethical standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in corporate investigations.
- Proven ability to manage complex investigations and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external authorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- High level of integrity and commitment to ethical principles.
