The Retail Data Analyst will build tools that level up the data that supports our Strategic Sales team. You will create dashboards, visualizations, and reports to make it easy for internal teams and external partners to see historical data and make informed decisions on the future direction of our business. You will play a critical role in helping our partners tell the Stanley story and in driving sales growth together.
This position will be based in Pittsburgh, PA and will travel 20% of the time. We may also consider candidates based in other parts of the Northeastern United States.
What You Will Do:

• Create a standard set of data tools to provide easy visibility to sell through data and POS analytics using data from a variety of internal and external sources.
• Perform analyses that ensure assortment planning aligns with category targets and business development activities.
• Develop analyses based on market share and trend data to inform strategic sales decisions and promotional planning.
• Create tools to identify on sales opportunities and work with the Sales team to create appropriate action plans.
• Partner with the demand planning team to ensure accurate item level forecasts based on sales trends and projections.
• Provide regular measures of brand penetration by geography that help the Sales team identify key markets/epicenters.
• Works with Strategic Sales leaders to ensure planning and discussions with retail accounts are grounded in data.
• Supports recurring activities across the Sales team, such as business planning, account inventory maintenance and account-level assortment planning.

About You:

• An experienced analyst that has worked in market research, buying/replenishment, or customer analytics in the consumer products, retail, or food service industry.
• A data expert that has proven success finding disparate information sources, joining the data to build dashboards and reports, and partnering with business leaders to surface insights and develop targeted action plans.
• An excellent communicator, able to tell the story behind the data verbally and in writing; comfortable presenting data and findings to large cross-functional groups
• Works independently, possesses the judgment to identify and complete critical work and has the organization skills to manage a wide range of deliverables

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as an analyst supporting sales, merchandising, or planning for a consumer products, retail, or food & beverage brand.
• Bachelor's degree in business, economics or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to create dashboards, reports, and analyses by synthesizing data from multiple sources.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with SQL and data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI.
• Experience with SPS Commerce or a similar cloud-based platform preferred.

The base pay range for this position is for a successful candidate within the state listed. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on multiple factors, such as work location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience.
