To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the grade to which you are applying.
Specialized Experience
To qualify for the GS-15, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience:
1. Providing advice on policies and programs regarding nature conservation and management.
2. Developing and maintaining working relationships with Federal, State, Tribal, and public interest groups to advance the conservation and management of nature.
3. Using a variety of technologies that support gathering, storing, summarizing, and presenting data and other knowledge, such as GIS software (e.g., Arc, QGIS), statistical software (e.g., R, Python), and databases (e.g., SQL and no-SQL platforms), to support evidence-based decision-making for nature.
4. Preparing technical and non-technical briefings, reports, letters, and program documents for leadership.
