This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of the Assistant Attorney General (OAAG). OJP's mission is to increase public safety and improve the fair administration of justice across America through innovative leadership and programs. This position serves as a Senior Policy Advisor on Culturally Specific Communities, reporting to the Deputy Assistant Attorney General but advising all of OJP's executive leadership.Qualifications:
Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Examples of specialized experience include:
- Identifies emerging needs and trends relating to victimization from domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence and/or stalking in culturally specific communities.
- Advises on the administration of grants related to culturally specific services, including grant activities, special initiatives and cooperative agreements, and contracts with culturally specific organizations.
- Develops policies related to culturally specific services of broad applicability and agency or organization-specific implementation procedures to ensure grants management rules and regulations are followed and applied consistently.
- Advises on policies, legislation, implementation of laws and other issues relating to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking in culturally specific communities.
