Parks and Community Services Department
The Watsonville Parks and Community Services Department is seeking a self-starting, creative, forward-thinking, team-oriented individual to fill the role of Senior Administrative Analyst. This position plays a key role on the leadership team of a dynamic Department and will be responsible for several critical business functions. Duties include development and tracking of the Department's budget, grant applications and reporting, management of the Customer Service Center, Department HR functions, strategic planning and performance measurements, capital improvement project management and special projects. City Manager's Office*
The City in partnership with the South County Triage Partnership (SCTP), a collaboration of Community Based Organizations and government agencies including Santa Cruz County, the Pajaro Valley Unified School District, and the Pajaro Valley Healthcare District, is seeking a dynamic leader who can lead, coordinate and support organizations of the partnership. With assistance from the City of Watsonville, SCTP works to improve equity, health, and economic mobility by providing culturally appropriate services for vulnerable and marginalized individuals in the Pajaro Valley.
Responsibilities will include provision of guidance, management and follow through of the multi-sectoral set of activities that aim to improve community health and wellness and promote economic and social mobility of community members. This effort aims to align systems and priorities that help, partners shift from transactional, program specific approaches to a new norm where participants align local community interests, incubate fresh ideas, expand collective capacity, and alignment that result in greater impact than any one entity could achieve alone. This position will play a critical role in moving forward the priorities of the SCTP Board. Specifically, the candidate will help to formalize a structure and set of practices that will support and enhance cross-sector collaboration, build community-based organization capacity, and engage community members in strategies addressing pressing needs.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Analyze issues and prepares reports for submission to the SCTP, Governance Board and City Council as required.
- Develops and disseminates public information regarding assigned programs and projects.
- Develop a set of key policy priorities and communicate them regularly to internal partners and the broad community.
- Develop and maintains a data tracking system to monitor the SCTP and City's progress in complying with Federal, State and Local laws and regulations relative to assigned programs.
- Administers various contracts including coordination and participation in contract negotiations and monitoring contract compliance and performance.
- Prioritize the necessary community partners, including engagement of the broader community as well as executive level individuals.
- Three years of increasingly responsible administrative or analytical experience in an operating or staff agency in business, non-profit management or government comparable to that of an Administrative Analyst with the City of Watsonville.
*Funding for this position is currently for 18 months; however, it will be reviewed annually for potential continuation.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
This job class functions at an advanced journey level of the Administrative Analyst series, and is distinguished from the Administrative Analyst by the performance of the more complex duties assigned to positions in this series. Special assignments and projects requiring independence in judgement and advanced technical and research capabilities are also assigned to positions at this level.

Monitors progress and evaluates work measurement of various city programs pertaining to area of responsibility

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Education:
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, environmental science, business administration, or a closely related field
Experience:
Three years of increasingly responsible administrative or analytical experience in an operating or staff agency in business or government comparable to that of an Administrative Analyst with the City of Watsonville
LICENSE
- a valid and appropriate California Driver's License, including a safe driving record
Prior to appointment to the position of Senior Administrative Analyst, a medical examination and Department of Justice Livescan fingerprinting will be required.
