SouthLight is currently seeking a full-time Senior Accountant for our Financial Team. The Senior Accountant is responsible for applying accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.
Pay
Starting pay range is $70-80k/yr, based on experience.
Schedule
FT, Mon-Fri 8a-4p or 9a-5p.
Hybrid- option to work 3 days on-site and 2 days remote.

Full-time employees are eligible for medical benefits the first of the month 30 days after hire date. Options for a standard plan and an HSA plan with a $300 initial contribution and up to a $25 per paycheck match. 10 paid holidays and PTO hours which accrue at a rate of 10 hours per month. Job Responsibilities of a Senior Accountant/Controller
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Responsible for all grant financial reporting, tracking, and compliance.
- Produces weekly and quarterly productivity report. Follow ups with all Sr. and Program Directors to analyze variances and determine causes of shortfalls in contacts with clients.
- Responsible for working with HR and all program staff that staff allocations in payroll and reconcile to the general ledger.
- Responsible for month and year end prepaid and accrued expense reconciliation and entries.
- Responsible for month and year end payroll accruals.
- Assists CFO with preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Assists CFO and Director of Development in Grant Application Process.
- Assists CFO with annual external audit and 990 preparation.
Qualifications of a Senior Accountant/Controller
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance and 5+ years' commensurate experience; or Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years commensurate experience required; or Associate's Degree in accounting or finance and 15+ years of experience.
- Industry experience highly preferred.
- Experience with Federal Grants is highly preferred.
- Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge highly preferred.
