Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Senior Cost Accountant to join a growing Finance team in RTP/Durham, NC. The position will be primarily responsible for the accurate financial reporting of manufacturing and production costs. This role is a highly visible role within the Global Finance organization and will assist in implementing and improving financial systems that support the costing of our manufacturing process.
Responsibilities:
Develop and analyze cost standards
Prepare cost accounting journal entries and corresponding reconciliations complying with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries, analyze inventory balances, prepare inventory roll forward
Review slow moving inventory for obsolescence and record necessary inventory reserves
Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures related to inventory management, application of manufacturing overhead, and overall costing
Prepare periodic reports comparing standard to actual costs.
Provide management with cost and comparative reports to indicate need for change in pricing
Provide support for annual physical inventories and cycle counts
Continuously improve the accounting for global manufacturing processes and procedures by identifying areas to streamline, automate, or refine
Assist with intercompany activity of subsidiaries including elimination entries allowing for accurate consolidated reporting
Assist in the validation of revenue and cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close
Own the risk assessment of systems and processes within manufacturing, maintain and ensure compliance with all SOX requirements and fulfill internal and external audit requests
Continuously improve the accounting for global manufacturing processes and procedures by identifying areas to streamline to gain efficiencies and support KPI's
Requirements:
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in Cost accounting role within a manufacturing environment
BA/BS in Accounting and/or Finance is required
Experience analyzing inventory, including variance analysis, obsolescence, and inventory reserves
Strong knowledge of US GAAP
Experience with SAP S/4HANA is a plus
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including V-lookups, X-lookups, and pivot tables
Problem-solving, analytical skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously.
