Senior Accountant

The role of the Senior Accountant in Reside’s mission is to exercise professional judgment to resolve moderately complex accounting problems and recommend ways to improve current processes. The role requires a well-organized and detail-oriented person who can consistently and accurately manage multiple tasks and works well both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Essential Functions

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements for multiple entities
• Assist with the monthly close process for multiple entities
• Drive process improvements and automation to improve efficiencies
• Verify accuracy of financial data and make recommendations for corrections
• Play key role in annual financial audits
• Play key role in tax filings and tax audits
• Assist with cash management
• Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded.
• Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position does not include any supervisory responsibilities.
• May provide cross-training to staff.

Competencies

• Experience with month end close process and financial statements preparation
• Solid understanding of GAAP
• Advanced proficiency in Excel
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills – ability to analyze results, draw conclusions and recommend solutions with limited guidance
• Experience working in ERP, property management systems, and banking platforms
• Ability to successfully work independently with limited supervision
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline driven environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with all stakeholders

Required Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or equivalent experience
• 4 - 7 years related experience with at least 1 year as a Senior Accountant
• Experience working in hospitality or similar industry is preferred

Work Environment

Usual office working conditions. This position will have a desk space with a computer and a phone. The noise level in the work environment is typical of most office environments with telephones, personal interruptions, and background noises.

This position is eligible for partial remote work after the onboarding and training period, typically 30 – 90 days.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to use their hands. The employee must have the ability to use a computer keyboard and mouse and the ability to dial, answer, and talk on a telephone. The employee is occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. This job requires the ability to occasionally work in stressful conditions and remain focused for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds; boxes, documents and/or other items.

Compensation Range

$90,000 - $110,000

Expected Work Hours

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. May include holidays and/or alternate days or hours as needed.

Travel

This position could require minimal travel, less than 20% of the time.
