Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 per year
We are currently seeking a dynamic and meticulous individual for the role of Senior Fund Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to take on a leadership role in our finance team, managing and overseeing all aspects of fund accounting. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of private equity and fund accounting, and will ideally be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). This role is designed for a proactive individual with a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a strong desire to contribute to our organization's financial success.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Senior Fund Accountant, you will be entrusted with a broad range of responsibilities. These include but are not limited to:
1. Overseeing the preparation and review of financial statements, investor reports, and capital call and distribution notices.
2. Managing the audit process, including liaising with external auditors and preparing relevant financial reports.
3. Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards.
4. Performing complex fund accounting activities such as reconciliations, fund valuations, and cash management.
5. Collaborating with the investment team to provide financial insights and guidance.
6. Training and mentoring junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
7. Participating in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance workflow efficiency.
Qualifications:
To ensure success in this role, the ideal candidate will need to meet the following criteria:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
3. A minimum of 3 years of experience in fund accounting, ideally within the private equity space.
4. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
5. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant financial regulations.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
7. Proven leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate a team.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining accuracy and quality of work.
