Senior Accountant
CHEMRES is a fast-paced, growth-oriented global supplier of commodity and engineering resins seeking a Senior Accountant in Princeton, NJ to support continued growth. We manage a dynamic customer base consisting of fortune 500 companies. The Senior Accountant maintains financial reports, records, and maintains general ledgers; prepares and analyzes budgets; manages inventory valuation, and performs general bookkeeping and billing duties. The successful applicant will be someone is experienced with financial reporting, manufacturing accounting and inventory valuation, be able to communicate effectively with customers and vendors, be a self-motivated, quick learner with proven organizational, computer and multi-tasking skills.
Minimum Job Responsibilities:
· Verify, allocate and reconcile accounts payable and receivables.
· Maintain fixed assets list with roll-forward reconciliation and conduct periodic audits.
· Manage inventory physicals, reconcile balances with the system while preparing the inventory roll-forward reconciliation, and validate inventory valuation.
· Prepare reports and documentation needs for the bank and outside auditors.
· Analyze costs and variances associated with inventory, manufacturing, and shipping.
· Support month-end and year-end close process
· Prepare monthly JE’s and post.
· Prepare monthly intercompany elimination balances to send to our Holding Company
· Assist with the preparation of financial statements and monthly comments.
· Assist in budget preparation and forecast.
· Analyze financial information and summarize financial status through reconciliations.
· Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
· Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures to improve efficiency.
· Provide input into department’s goal setting process.
· Assist with tax audits and tax returns PBC submissions.
· Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
· Assist in the development and documentation of business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
· Ensure compliance with GAAP and or IFRS
· Manage additional projects and tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 4-year degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred
- Proven experience as Senior Accountant
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Awareness of business trends
- Experience with manufacturing inventory management and bookkeeping preferred
- Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP’s and Pivot tables
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills a must
- Independent self-starter
