The Senior Accountant - This individual will play a key role in the monthly close and reporting process within the corporate function of the accounting department. The Senior Accountant’s responsibilities include an emphasis on monitoring the revenue accounting function while assisting with month-end close processes.
The ideal candidate is knowledgeable of full cycle accounting, detail-oriented, analytical, and has great interpersonal and communication skills to interface with management and other departments within the organization.
RESULTS MEASURED BY THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform the monthly financial closing processes including journal entry preparation
- Maintain and administer accounts receivable records and files among several third-party billing entities
- Perform & maintain month-end reconciliations
- Perform multi-location financial analysis against budget/forecast & full cycle accounting
- Collaborate with Revenue Analytics Manager to review rate trends, make recommendations on AR valuation, track cash collections, and monitor against accrual rates
- Prepare PBCs and support the financial statement audit
- Maintain AR aging and metrics reports, including reserve rates and days sales outstanding
- Ability to investigate and resolve any irregularities with billers
- Evaluate and recommends solutions for continuous improvement pertaining to level of AR responsibility
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports to summarize AR metrics for management to use in the evaluation of accounts receivable performance
- The ideal candidate will have multi-location experience with a healthcare background
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar experience required
- Five (5) or more years of experience in GL accounting and/or financial reporting required
- High attention to detail and adept with analyzing large volumes of data. Exceptional reconciliation and analytical skills.
- Advanced to Intermediate Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, index match and v-lookups
- Experience with Great Plains, or similar general ledger platform preferred
