Senior Accountant

The Frazier Quarry Inc. (TFQ) is a large family-owned quarry and stone product retailer based in the United States. The company is headquartered in Harrisonburg, Virginia in the Shenandoah Valley. It is the only producer of Shenandoah Valley Bluestone and also provides crushed stone and retail products. The company was founded in 1915 as Betts Quarry and became The Frazier Quarry Incorporated in 1946.

Responsible for entering fixed assets into Sage software, posting to the General Ledger; performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assist in preparing tax returns, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned. Promotes and adheres to company’s mission, vision and values; policies and applicable laws in a fair and equitable manner.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in month-end process completion
• Process month-end reconciliation and journal entries
• General ledger analysis and troubleshooting of accounts
• Assist in the review of Purchase Orders
• Enter and maintain fixed assets data
• Assist in the completion of the 1099’s and Property Tax filings
• Cross train within the department
• Other special projects

Qualifications:

• GAAP knowledge specifically general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable experience
• Minimum 1 to 3 years of hands-on accounting experience
• Strong PC and Excel skills - spreadsheet proficient
• Attention to detail
• Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (GP) or other accounting software experience
• Experience in Fixed Asset Accounting preferred
• Highly detail oriented and organized
• Ability to meet strict and frequent deadlines
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with a variety of colleagues

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $65,431.00 per year
