General Description
Under general direction, the Senior Environmental Engineer will provide the technical expertise necessary to ensure compliance with the Lead Service Line Replacement Accelerators initiative. This position is responsible for providing hands-on support to guide communities through the process of lead service line removals, from start to finish. This will include support in developing lead service line replacement plans, conducting inventories and teaching field crew to identify lead pipes, and increasing community outreach and education efforts.
How You Will Fulfill Your Mission
- Provide support to the water utilities as they develop lead service line replacement plans, with a focus on making recommendations for staging and aggregating replacement projects.
- Provide technical assistance to the water systems with activities including, but not limited to plan development and coordination, developing and/or reviewing preliminary engineering reports, and project planning and design.
- Identify and apply applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations.
- Develop and implement systems and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Conduct compliance evaluations and implement necessary changes to ensure all findings are resolved.
- Provide support, mentoring and training to field crews.

Specific Knowledge/Certification Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors in engineering, environmental science, environmental planning, or equivalent.
- Minimum three (3) years of professional experience, preferably with an environmental consulting organization.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and adapt to changes with the government client’s schedule/scope.
- Possess strong technical report writing skills with proficiency in standard Microsoft Office Software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc., and the ability to use technical databases to manage, sort, and extract data for technical and administrative reporting purposes.
