Qualifications
- Required bachelor's degree Accounting and General Business
- Required 3 years related experience
- Preferred previous supervisory experience
- A master's degree may substitute for one year of required experience
Job Responsibilities
- Ensures activities are recorded to assigned general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP and Hospital policies and procedures.
- Reviews monthly closing entries prepared by accountants and assistants for accuracy by established departmental closing deadlines.
- Assists in the establishment of closing deadlines for IDS members and monitoring activity to ensure a timely closing.
- Reviews current pronouncements for application to financial reporting.
- Researches and responds to basic accounting inquiries posed by all sources.
- Reviews reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts ensuring accuracy and integrity of monthly financial reporting.
- Assists other accountants in preparing monthly reports which accurately and materially reflect the financial position of the business.
- Reviews work performed by accounting staff.
