Senior Accountant
What does a successful Senior Accountant do at Fiserv?
We are seeking a candidate with a strong work ethic, collaborative energy, and an eagerness to learn. Your responsibilities will include providing guidance and contractual expertise to both internal and external stakeholders, actively participating in process improvement initiatives, and assisting management in analytical projects.
What you will do:
* Analyze, verify, and accurately record financial transactions in a timely manner.
* Ensure the fair presentation of financial information in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
* Maintain documentation of reconciliation and journal entry procedures, adapting them as changes occur.
* Assist in the monthly financial close process.
* Offer recommendations for continuous and proactive process improvement.
* Identify potential control weaknesses and propose solutions to enhance controls.
* Act as a liaison between accounting, finance, product, and operations.
* Participate as a subject matter expert in cross-functional projects supporting business, regulatory, and operational changes.
What you will need to have:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, mathematics, computer science, business, or data analytics Combination of educational background, related work experience, and/or military experience
* 3+ years of experience in general accounting, revenue recognition, and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Previous experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MS Word, Access, and automated accounting systems.
What would be great to have:
* CPA license and/or master's degree in accounting.
* Experience in lease accounting.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage diverse workloads and meet multiple deadlines.
This role is not eligible to be performed in Colorado, California, New York or Washington.
