The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for performing accounting and general ledger duties and assisting as needed with any functions of the corporate office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of financial principles and practices.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform month-end and year-end close activities including bank reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, GL account reconciliations and reviews.
- Maintain accurate workpapers to support GL balances.
- Review and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Monitor internal controls to ensure proper procedures are documented and followed.
- Oversee the accounts payable process.
- Assist in conducting the annual financial audit. Prepare appropriate documentation for external auditors.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
- Five years of accounting experience.
- Two years of supervisory experience.
- Valid Driver's License is required.
- Have thorough knowledge of US GAAP.
- Must be highly motivated and detail oriented.
- Practical experience with accounting software.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Maintain a positive attitude and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
