Self Pay Collections Specialist

Busy vascular surgery practice with 16+ providers and 9 office locations in the Northwest metro Atlanta area seeking individual to fill a role in self-Pay Collections. We are looking for a senior level collector with the ability to multitask and maintain a high level of organization. The individual must be able to meet deadlines with frequent interruptions and re-define priorities as needed. The position requires the ability to communicate and collaborate well with others. We value innovation and a creative approach to problem solving.

Candidate must be supremely trustworthy and must pass a background check.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Working a daily call queue of patients with delinquent account balances
• Evaluating patients for placement with an outside collection agency and submitting accounts weekly to that agency.
• Sending letters and correspondence to patients whose accounts are delinquent.
• Facilitating our financial assistance process and evaluating patients to see if they qualify.
• Running regular reports to ensure all account types are being worked.
• Working with GA Medicaid to advocate for patients who could potentially qualify for coverage.

Candidate must exhibit compassion and exemplary customer service skills when dealing with patients on the phone, be a highly motivated self-starter who can multitask in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidate is one who can manage a high volume of accounts and manage time wisely.

• High school diploma required
• Bachelors degree preferred
• 2+ years of previous insurance billing/collections and/or claims follow up experience required
• Hospital or Physician Business Office work experience required
