Responsibilities
- Develop environmental strategies to ensure compliance with Federal and local legislative requirements
- Lead in the implementation of environmental policies
- Develop waste control/prevention programs
- Report on environmental performance to internal and external clients along with regulatory agencies
- Identify and reduce project's environmental risks and costs
- Keep up with best practices and changing legislation concerning environmental issues
- Direct public relations activities, communications, and education plans involving environmental issues
- Train employees at all levels on environmental practices and responsibilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Defgree in the area of environmental studies (e.g. Bio, Zoology, Ecology) or equivalent
- 5+ years of environmental experience/knowledge
- Heavy Civil background (preferred)
- Familiarity with DOT construction requirements
- Experience must demonstrate familiarity with:
- Provision of Construction General Permit
- Requirements of Section 404 and permit provisions
- Minimization construction noise through abatement
- Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA) compliance
- Knowledge and experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Mature and effective presenter and communicator, capable of interacting with senior level executives
- Strong analytic, organizational and interpersonal skills
