Job Description
United Security Services, Inc., a national security company, which specializes in hospitality and customer service, is seeking a professional full-time Security Supervisor to supervise security services at Downtown Summerlin or the Las Vegas Ballpark.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of hospitalitysecurity experience and at least 2 years ofSecurity Supervisory experience.
- Exceptional customer service skills and excellent judgement.
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to write and approve professional security reports.
- Possess, or can acquire by time of employment, a State of Nevada PILB Security Work Card.
- Availability/flexibility to work any day, including weekends and holidays, and any work shift based on operational needs.
Preferred:
- Experienced with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new security software applications.
- Possess a working knowledge of the hospitality industry and the related nomenclature.
The starting hourly wage for this position is $21.00.
Duties include:
▪ Oversight of all security shift personnel
▪ Back-up of posts as necessary
▪ Represent the Security Department in the absence of the Security Manager for all meetings and
functions (i.e., pre-event meetings, site visits, security walkthroughs, etc.)
▪ Provide a high level of respectful and polite customer service for all DTS guests, visitors and staff
▪ Assist with the weekly work schedule and coordination of security officer time-off requests
▪ Develop and complete all security administrative statistical needs and reports for their specific assigned shift
▪ Attend and assist with conducting pre-shift and end-of-shift briefings
▪ Communicate all pertinent security information to security officers prior to assigned shift
▪ Supervise security officers and regularly observe and monitor their conduct and performance
▪ Handle all queries from security staff during their assigned shift
▪ Oversee all security investigations occurring on their assigned shift
▪ Handle all complaints regarding security officers from employees, guests and visitors
▪ Conduct follow-up investigations on all security incidents occurring during their shifts
▪ Become the "contact officer" (contact and cover techniques) for security officers on certain potentially volatile or sensitive contacts and incidents
▪ Ensure all security checks and patrols are regularly conducted
▪ Prepare and distribute the end-of-shift security report and send such correspondence to appropriate DTS management personnel
▪ Address all security call-offs/staffing needs for the following shift to ensure appropriate staffing levels
▪ Assist with development of annual personnel evaluations for security officers
▪ Supervise and/or deliver all new security officer orientation training and refresher training (Field Training Officer or FTO)
▪ Provide regular coaching and mentoring for new security officers
▪ Physically check and ensure all of the required security equipment is in good working order and ready for usage during their assigned shift
▪ Ensure the security systems and software are functional at the commencement of assigned shift
▪ Review and approve all security Incident Reports completed by security officers during their assigned shift (Ensure all Incident Reports are complete, accurate, contain all of the key elements, pertinent details and are void of any spelling or grammatical errors. If corrections/ revisions are necessary, the shift supervisor shall ensure the officer completes the corrections /revisions prior to the end of their shift)
▪ Conduct the preliminary investigation of all security incidents which occur during their shift which represent potential liability claims
▪ Conduct a physical inspection of security officers on the shift to ensure compliance with accepted grooming and uniform standards (i.e., uniforms clean and pressed; name tag and designated pins are properly placed, shoes shined and in good repair)
▪ Ensure all necessary security and safety equipment is possessed by security officers to include required keys, communication devices, flashlights, notepad, pen and latex gloves
▪ Ensure all security officers thoroughly investigate and document all important facts during incident investigation and reporting (completion of Incident Reports for all security incidents)
