The Special Operations Guard Supervisor reports to the Special Operations Guard Manager (SOGM) and is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of all assigned personnel within Wynn Security Operations and Special Operations. The supervisor ensures effective deterrence, detection, and response to security/safety related events and assists the SOGM in the administrative and operational management of officers.
Essential Duties
- Operational Supervision:
- Assist the SOGM in ensuring effective security measures and responses to security/safety-related incidents. Coordinate and supervise the activities of SOGs, SACOs, and perimeter Security Officers.
- Provide necessary resources to effectively respond to emergency events effecting Wynn property and/or assets, such as terrorist/lethal acts, security/safety events, fires, riots, demonstrations, and evacuations.
- Liaison and coordinate with Corporate Investigations, Crisis Management, Hotel Operations, and LVMPD as necessary to resolve incidents, conduct investigations, and implement scene management protocols.
- Assist the SOGM in reviewing staffing levels to ensure full coverage of posts and assignments. Participate in assigning appropriate personnel as necessary and ensure adequate staffing for all shifts.
- Delegate authority and task responsibilities to assigned personnel. Ensure clear understanding of roles and equip personnel to fulfill their duties effectively.
- Consistently emulate and ensure adherence of company Forbes Five Star standards of service.
- Administrative Oversight:
- Collaborate with Hotel Security, Corporate Investigations, and Hotel Management to investigate incidents. Compile data and information for accurate reporting and identify trends or areas for improvement.
- Complete incident and use of force reviews to ensure compliance of company policies.
- Utilize various software systems to track attendance, payroll, overtime justification, incident reporting, work cards, applicable licenses, and inventory management.
- Implement safety measures, conduct risk assessments, and address issues or situations potentially contributing to employee injuries.
- Hiring, Training & Development:
- Participate in the training and development of assigned personnel including, implementation of training programs to ensure all personnel are properly trained in security protocols, emergency response procedures, and other job-specific skills.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and knowledge of assigned personnel
- Provide feedback on performance to support the professional growth of officers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the SOGM, Assistant Director, Executive Director, or Vice President of Security.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Minimum 4 years of active-duty military or law enforcement service. Relevant armed professional experience may be utilized to supplement and achieve the required minimum of 4 years. (Honorable discharge required if applying with prior military experience)
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada CCW (Carrying Concealed Weapon) within six months of hire date or must possess a HR 218 (Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act card). Certification is not permitted to expire, once obtained.
- Must be able to obtain and possess a valid Nevada Gaming Registration, an Alcohol Awareness Card (AES), First Aid & CPR certifications, and a valid Nevada Driver's License upon employment.
- Must be able to meet and maintain Wynn Firearms Qualification requirements.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High school graduate or equivalent is required, college graduate preferred.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of security protocols and emergency response procedures.
- Ability to conduct investigations and compile accurate reports.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts and adapt to changing situations.
- Understanding of risk assessments and injury prevention strategies.
- Experience in hiring and training security personnel is preferred.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to security.
- Ability to work alone and within a team environment.
- Ability to communicate in English fluently and professionally. Additional languages are welcomed.
- Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, along with a working knowledge of basic computer programs (Word, Excel, Outlook email etc.).
